“Today’s GM will do the right thing”– Mary Barra, GM CEO (April 1, 2014)
* ASOTRECOL is an association of injured workers illegally fired by GM from an assembly plant in Colombia without compensation or health care. They’ve occupied a tent since Aug. 2011 in front of the U.S. Embassy to expose the unsafe working conditions, and press GM for a fair settlement. Their non-violent actions of witness, including symbolic crucifixions and several hunger strikes—with lips sewn shut—have garnered worldwide attention.
