The annual meeting of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights is set for 7:00 p.m., June 20, 2019 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish.

Board elections and annual report of MCHR will be followed by Curt Guyette’s talk entitled “The Media, Facism and Donald Trump.”

Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish is located at 13500 Oak Park Boulevard (at Coolidge between 9 and 10 Mile), Oak Park, Michigan.

Sold-Out MCHR 2019 Annual Dinner Featured U.S. House Rep. Rashida Tlaib as Keynote Speaker

The Michigan Coalition for Human Rights held its 39th annual dinner at Marygrove College on April 14, 2019.

U.S. House Rep. Rashida Tlaib was keynote speaker and she addressed numerous issues, including the many problems with our immigration system and ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement); progress of the House of Representatives oversight of the Trump Administration; and challenges regarding the leadership and future direction of the Democratic Party.

Commenting on the environment in the House of Representatives, Tlaib said she feels “more Palestinian in the halls of Congress than I do anywhere in the country — in the world.”

A record number of tickets were purchased for this year’s annual dinner, making it one of MCHR’s most successful fundraising initiatives ever.
