Position Title:
Executive Director (part-time)
Reports to: Chair of Board
FLSA status: Exempt
Effective Date: July 1, 2008

Position Summary:
Working closely with board members, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Coalition for Human Rights as well as all fundraising activities.

Major Responsibilities/Activities: Director

Supervision of the office, the part-time bookkeeper and the program coordinator

Fund-raising -- including researching foundations and other sources for funds

Work directly with heads of the several board committees, especially Finance

Work with the Executive Committee to prepare agenda for board meetings & annual meeting

Work with the Annual Dinner Committee and oversee all arrangements for the event

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a certified college or university.

Experience Required:
Minimum of three years experience working with groups and within organizations in a non-profit environment.

Background in Social Justice Ministries would be helpful.

Familiarity with SE Michigan funding sources

Skills/Knowledge:
Proficient with standard office software (ie. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and equipment. Familiarity with SE Michigan funding sources required.

Personal Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, efficient work habits, plus ability to interact effectively with the movers and shakers of society.
